My journey into art quilts started 12 years ago. Based upon my long time interest in fabrics and sewing, the design and construction of fabric-based art has become my passion. I love to take interesting and often bright fabrics and create unique designs. When I started I was in my "geometric" phase, but have most recently moved to a "nature" phase.
For most of my quilting career I was the VP of Finance for a small credit union in Vancouver, Canada. After it merged with a much larger institution, I took the opportunity to "retire" (i.e. move to the quilt-based and much more interesting stage of my life). I can now devote more hours every day to quilting. My new-found time will allow me to try more elaborate designs as well as integrate textiles that my sister designs and creates.
I have recently started to exhibit my quilts in shows and on the internet. My online shop at etsy.com gives me another outlet for sharing my passion and getting direct feedback on my creations. When not creating quilts, I can usually be found prowling the local forests for design ideas.
